Content Creation Funnel for streamers

Just as in marketing, content creation for streamers must follow the content marketing funnel.

I adapted it to create a funnel that is easier to understand for streamers.

The only difference is that people is using their time as currency at the beginning, and if they engage enough with you enough, they will become actual consumers of your content.

But before getting started, we need to understand the Traditional Funnel stages:

Traditional Marketing Funnel

Awareness

Cognitive level. (Learning, “To Know”)

Basically, the consumer is aware that you exist.

Interest

Affective level. (Feeling, “To Feel”)

The consumer is willing to know more about you or your content.

Desire

The consumer is convinced about the brand.

Action

Behavioral Level. (Action, “To do”)

The consumer is ready to take an action about the brand.

Now, let’s understand your…

Viewer’s journey stages

  • Random viewer

  • Frequent Viewer

  • Follower / Free subscriber

  • Paid Subscriber / Sub

  • Cheer leaders (We can use another name)

  • Gifted-sub Givers

  • Ambassadors

After all these information breakdown, we are ready to layout the…

Content Marketing Funnel for streamers

Top of the Funnel

Here is where social media is your best friend.

Awareness (Random Viewer)

Put your content out there. Let people know that you exist!Use short-form content on social media platforms, such as Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, etc.

Engagement (Frequent viewer)

Once your content is out there, it will be easier for people to interact with it. You can ask questions, post short funny videos, clips, etc.

Middle of the Funnel

Here is you build your trust and YouTube can be your ally.

Consideration (Follower / Free subscription)

This is where YouTube content becomes key, it will be like your own promotion. People already know you and by showing your proficiency, they will be more likely to trust you.

Action (Paid subscription)

If your content is getting traction, you will start to see people actually subscribing and paying for your content.

Bottom of the Funnel

If you are a streamer, you will need a platform that will help you monetize and interact wit your audience, Twitch is the king in this regard.

Adoption (Subs)

They become supporters of your content. They are your loyal subscribers who chat and interact in your streams and videos. Give them the attention they deserve!

Retention (Cheer leaders)

They once in a while will buy your merchandise, or support your streams by cheering,

Expansion (Gifted-

sub givers)

They talk about you and send gifted subscriptions to others.

Advocacy (Ambassadors)

They will promote your content and talk about you. They will even defend your content.
